ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland women's basketball team concludes the regular season with a pair of Horizon League games at No. 21/22 Green Bay and Milwaukee. The Golden Grizzlies and Phoenix tip off on Friday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. ET followed by the Panthers on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. Both games will be broadcast live from the Kress Events Center and Klotsche Center respectively on ESPN3.
Scouting the Panthers: Milwaukee enters the game fourth in the league standings with a 10-6 mark. Oakland holds an 10-7 all-time series mark after the Panthers defeated the Golden Grizzlies earlier this season (1/6).
Recent History Against Green Bay: No. 21/22 Green Bay sits atop the league at 14-2 and ranks No. 2 in the Women's Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. Despite trailing the all-time series 7-4, Oakland has won the last four of seven meetings between the two schools. Last season against No. 21/24 Green Bay with 7.0 seconds on the clock and the game tied at 71-71, Sha'Keya Graves stole the inbounds pass and rumbled coast-to-coast converting the game-winning layup with 2.2 seconds and completed the 3-point play from the free throw line to secure Oakland's 74-71 upset win on the Blacktop at the O'rena (2/2/17). The win marked Oakland's first home win over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 21 South Dakota State (1/5/09). The win also snapped the Phoenix 11-game win streak and marked the second consecutive year the Golden Grizzlies defeated Green Bay while being nationally ranked.
Make it a Double-Double: Leah Somerfield has recorded consecutive double-doubles giving her seven so far which ranks 11th on the all-time single season record just one behind Olivia Nash and Amanda Batcha.
