INDIANAPOLIS- For the second consecutive season, Taylor Gleason has been named to the Horizon League women's basketball All-Academic Team announced by the league office on Thursday.
Gleason, a 4.00 graduate student majoring in exercise science, started all 29 games at point guard ranking second in the league in assists (4.7) and assist/turnover ratio (2.0), tied for fourth in steals (2.3) and fifth in minutes played (34.1). She also ranks 10th in 3-point field goal percentage (35.7), 14th in 3-point field goals made per game (1.6) and 17th in scoring (11.8 ppg). Gleason recorded five or more assists in 13 games while scoring in double figures in 21 games. She recorded her second career double-double with 19 points and a career-best 11 rebounds against UIC on Senior Day (2/17). In addition to earning all-academic team honors last season, Gleason was also named to 2017 Basketball Coaches of Michigan (BCAM) Academic-Athletic Team.
Oakland enters the 2018 Little Caesars Motor City Madness Horizon League Championships as a No. 7 seed and will play No. 10 seed UIC at Little Caesars Arena on Friday, March 2 at 12 p.m.
