ROCHESTER, Mich. - The No. 7 seed Oakland women's basketball team opens the 2018 Little Caesars Motor City Madness Horizon League Championships against No. 10 seed UIC on Friday, Mar. 2 at 12 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3 from Little Caesars Arena with Andy Masur on the call.
Oakland is 19-16 all-time in conference tournaments with a 0-2 mark as a No. 7 seed in the Division I era. The Golden Grizzlies are 0-4 in the Horizon League Tournament and captured Mid-Continent titles in 2002 and 2006 to advance to the NCAA Tournament.

Oakland holds an 8-4 series lead over UIC winning the last six overall after sweeping both games during the regular season. All five seniors scored in double figures led by Sha'Keya Graves who matched a career-high 22 points followed by 19 points from Taylor Gleason with a career-best 11 rebounds and six assists as the Golden Grizzlies rolled past UIC, 95-78, on Senior Day (2/17). Korrin Taylor tied a career second-best with 13 points and four steals. Leah Somerfield recorded her sixth double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds while matching her career-best with three blocks. Cierra Bond also had a career-high seven steals along with 18 points.
