DENVER -- Oakland senior center Brittany Carnago is providing daily updates of her trip to Denver for the WNBA Predraft Camp. Here is her first entry regarding the trip from Detroit to Denver.
Today has been a VERY long day!
My sister, mom and I woke up at 4:30 a.m. to head to the Detroit airport for our 7a.m. flight. After a layover in Minneapolis, we eventually landed in Denver around noon. It took about five hours of flying, but we'd finally made it!
After getting our rental car, we head to the hotel. I decided I should go for a run to get used to the elevation.
After the run, we got ready and went out to dinner at the 16th Street Mall. When we finished eating dinner, we were walking towards our car and I saw a large charter bus that had ND in the window. My friend Ariel Braker players for Notre Dame so I walked towards the hotel they went to and was able to see her and chat for a bit.
Notre Dame is playing on Sunday and it was such an incredible coincidence that I was able to see her and talk to her before she played in the Final Four.
Overall its been a great and long day! But I am very excited to attend the camp on Saturday.
Thanks for all the support back home and I will be sure to keep you all informed about what is going on here in Denver.
