ROCHESTER, Mich. - Victoria Lipscomb, a 5-8 guard from East Lansing, Mich., has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Golden Grizzlies in the 2009-10 season, head coach Beckie Francis announced Monday.
Lipscomb averaged 7.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.3 steals per game as a senior at East Lansing High School. She holds the East Lansing High School all-time steals record with 290 for her career, and tied a school record for games played with 99 over the course of her career. A two-time all-conference first team selection, Lipscomb was also a BCAM and AP All-State Honorable Mention selection. Over the course of her career, the Lady Trojans won four consecutive CAAC -Blue championships, three quarterfinal appearances, and a state runner-up finish in 2008. Over the last two years, East Lansing High School posted an overall on-court record of 50-3.
"We're thrilled to have a player like Victoria joining our program," said Francis. "With her defensive skill and her tenacity, she is going to be a great fit for our program. She is a well-rounded person who will represent our program well both on and off the court."
