Lynch Named Summit League Offensive Player of the Week

Oct. 13, 2008

ELMHURST, Ill. - After netting a hat trick with an assist in Oakland's 6-1 win over IPFW, and scoring the Golden Grizzlies' lone goal in a 3-1 loss to IUPUI, Oakland University freshman Sarah Lynch was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week by The Summit League office on Monday.

Lynch receives Offensive Player of the Week honors after collecting a total of nine points last week off four goals and an assist in OU's two matches. Her first goal against the Mastodons was the game-winner.

Lynch becomes OU's fourth Player of the Week recipient this year, following teammates Deanna Colarossi (Sept. 8), Kristi Evans (Sept. 22), and Jessica Boyle (Oct. 6).

The Golden Grizzlies will return to action this Friday hosting Western Illinois on the OU Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
