ELMHURST, Ill.-- Following a two-goal performance against South Dakota, Kyla Kellermann was named The Summit League Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. It is the second time that the sophomore striker from Elmvale,Ontario, Canada has earned the award.
The two first-half goals by Kellermann were the difference in the match as Oakland won 2-0 over USD. The win put the Golden Grizzlies alone in first place in The Summit League standings. It was the second match-winning goal of the year for Kellermann.
With eight goals this season, Kellermann leads The Summit League in scoring this season. She also leads the league with 19 points this season, six ahead of her closest league rival.
Kellermann and the Golden Grizzlies will face a tough road test on Saturday at Fort Wayne with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m.
