BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The Oakland women's soccer team (9-5-3) will face fourth-seeded Western Illinois (13-5-0) in the semfinals of The Summit League Soccer Championship on Friday at 4 p.m ET. As regular season champions, the Golden Grizzlies are the top seed for the tournament hosted at Fishback Soccer Park.

OAKLAND SOCCER NOTES
▪ The Golden Grizzlies defeated Western Illinois 1-0 to clinch The Summit League Regular Season title on Sunday.
▪ Oakland has won seven Summit League regular season titles and seven Summit League Championship titles for a combined 14 titles since the year 2000
▪ OU claimed both the regular season and tournament titles in 2000, 2001 and 2003
▪ The Golden Grizzlies boast a 14-2-5 record at The Summit League Championship
▪ OU is 3-0-2 against WIU at The Summit League Championship
▪ Oakland has made six NCAA Tournament Appearances more than any other Summit League school
▪ After making 13 saves and turning in back-to-back shutouts in the final weekend of the season, Shannon Coley was named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week by league office on Monday

▪ Goalkeepers Shannon Coley and Payj O'Sheaeach recorded one save to earn the shutout win over South Dakota. It was the sixth shutout this season for OU
▪ Abigail Haelewyn leads the Summit League with nine assists this season and is No. 15 in the nation in assists per-game and No. 18 in total assists
▪ Kyla Kellermann leads Oakland and The Summit League in goals (8) and points (19) this season
▪ Kellermann has won two Summit League OFfensive Player of the Week Awards this season. Coley has three Summit League Defensive Player of the Week Awards, while Megan Reynolds and Haelewyn have also claimed the offensive award
▪ OU tied two of the three Big Ten teams it faced this season, drawing 0-0 with Michigan State and 1-1 with Northwestern
▪ Kellermann scored a hat trick against Rochester College, which tied for third most in single-game history at OU
▪ Haelewyn assisted on three goals in the match against Rochester College, which ties for fourth best in a single-game at Oakland
▪ Oakland was tabbed as the favorite in The Summit League Preseason Coaches Poll for the 11th time in school history, just edging South Dakota State this season with five first-place votes
▪ The Golden Grizzlies were unbeaten in preseason play with a 1-1 draw at Cleveland State and a 5-1 home win over Valparaiso
▪ Oakland won the 2011 Summit Leauge Championship on the OU Soccer Field, advancing to the NCAA Tournament for the sixth time in school history, where they faced Wake Forest
▪ Oakland has won 14 Summit League Titles (Seven Regular Season, Seven Championship Tournament) since 2000, which ranks as the eighth most in the nation among all Division I women's soccer programs.
