CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Kelsie Swanson hit her first career home run in the top of the third inning to finish 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and one stolen base as the Oakland softball team defeated Charlotte Friday afternoon in the 49ers Classic.

Madison Jones hit her third home run of the season, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Brittney Miller and Jessie Munson also recorded multi-hit games, with Miller ripping a two-RBI double in the fifth inning. Munson also drove in one RBI and scored a run.

Chelsea Wiggins got the start and went 5.0 strong innings, striking out four batters, then gave way to Hayley Bartholomew who tossed two scoreless inning to close the game.

In Oakland's first game of the day against Towson, Rachel Zerona went 2-for-2 with two RBIs as the Golden Grizzlies fell 8-4. Jones and Cammie Brummitt each went 1-for-4 with one RBI as well.

Oakland will close the 49ers Classic tomorrow against the Tigers and 49ers again, at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. respectively.
