LIVONIA, Mich. - Brittney Miller went 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and a pair of runs scored while Lauren Mead and Lyndsay Hill each recorded a hit and RBI to led Oakland to a 6-4 come from behind win over Cleveland State to complete the series sweep on Wednesday afternoon at University Field.
Erin Kownacki picked up her second win of the series in relief going 4.1 innings with two strikeouts.
Miller led off the second inning with a double and later scored on a wild pitch and error to give Oakland (12-14, 5-4 HL) a 1-0 lead.
CSU responded with three runs in the third to move ahead 3-1. The Golden Grizzlies retook the lead at 5-3 with four runs in the bottom half on RBIs from Miller and Mead coupled with two runs off Viking miscues.
Hill added a sacrifice fly in the fourth to score Rachel Zerona to increase the lead to 6-3.
After a home run in the fifth, CSU pulled to within 6-4 and had runners on second and third with two outs in the top of the seventh but Kownacki closed the door striking out Hanna Breeden to seal the win.
Oakland and Green Bay will open a series on Saturday, April 8. Due to possible weather and field conditions, the location of the games are yet to be determined.
