INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland women's volleyball player Taylor Humm has been named one of the Horizon League's Scholar-Athlete of the Month for November, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Humm, a senior from Crystal Lake, Ill., led the Golden Grizzlies' volleyball team to their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearances after capturing the Horizon League Championship and winning the League regular season. Humm was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year while averaging over 5.1 digs per set the final month. The squad went 6-0 during the November while only dropping five sets the entire month.
As an industrial and systems engineering major, Humm carries a 3.64 GPA. Humm is the SAAC President at Oakland while also expanding her education in an internship at Chrysler. The senior was selected to the Manufacturing and Development Program (MLDP) out of over 600 applicants.
